Everett, WA Initiative 24-03 passed in November 2024 with 57% of the vote, giving the community the ability to hold people accountable for damaging the Snohomish River. It was challenged by deep-pocketed developers who don’t want to be held accountable.

After losing at the trial court level, we have now engaged the experienced law firm, Smith & Lowney, to fight them appeal. We need your help to fund our legal effort to stop them from overturning the will of the people!

The stakes couldn't be higher. DONATE TODAY!

We also have more exciting projects lined up, focused on the Nooksack water adjudication and creating model legislation. Your donations make our efforts to educate and adjudicate around Rights of Nature in Washington state possible.

Standing for Nature is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donations are tax-deductible. If you do not need the tax deduction, we encourage you to donate to Standing for Washington and become a member to support active advocacy efforts to get natures’ rights enacted into law.
